1. What qualifications will I receive by doing this course?

  • Certificate III in Sport and Recreation
  • Certificate IV in Sports and Recreation

Classrooms set up in sporting organisations throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area

No

Yes, a VCE Pass is achieved upon completion of all curriculum requirements

  • Year 11 Entrance – 3 years
  • Year 12 Entrance – 2 years
  • Year 12 Graduate Entrance – 2 years

7. Do I have to be good at the sport?

No. This is not an elite program. The program is designed for students who have a general interest in sport and recreation

8. How much physical activity is included in the course?

The program curriculum has a large focus on student development in an applied setting

9. What are the job opportunities and career prospects after I graduate from the Sports Development Program?

Opportunities can be created for employment in sport and recreation and related industries, or further study within degree courses in recreation, teaching, business and marketing, tourism and human movement studies. These opportunities are subject to student results and approval from selected institutions.

The Sports Development Program is endorsed by Deakin University and co-delivered and auspiced by Victoria University.

11. Is there an entry quota and who is eligible to apply?

Year 10 Pass - 16-19 years of age - Program numbers are limited

No. The program operates on a full time basis over a school calendar year

13. Can I remain enrolled in my current school and complete the program?

No. All students leave their current school and enrol in the program full time. Students will be enrolled in one the program's host schools. Students are enrolled in our host schools for administration purposes only.
