The Sports Development Program is a joint initiative between AFL Victoria, Sports Education and Development Australia, partner host schools, and Victoria University, specifically designed for young people interested in a career in Sport and Recreation or other like industries.

The program offers current year 10, 11 and 12 students the opportunity to complete their education within the Sport and Recreation industry whilst forging a pathway to meaningful employment or further study.

Am I eligible?

· Program is open to students aged 16 -19

· Selection is not dependant on sports skill

Location

Programs will be based in sporting venues in all eight AFL Victoria metropolitan regions.

Curriculum Opportunities

PROGRAM	STUDENT INVOLVEMENT
AUSKICK	Footy clinics in schools and Auskick centres
AFL PLAYER APPEARANCES	Coaching clinics in conjunction with AFL players
SCHOOLS	Placement in Schools to assist staff with P.E. curriculum delivery
REC FOOTY	Delivery and umpiring of Recreational Football in Secondary Schools
COMMUNITY	Regional Footy league season launches and presentation nights
SPORTS TRAINER	Sports Medicine Australia Level 1 Course
FIRST AID	Australian 1^st Aid Level 1 Course
COACH EDUCATION	Level 1 Coaching Course
UMPIRING	Level 1 Umpiring Course
FEMALE	Assist with umpiring and coaching in Youth Girls Competitions
TALENT	Assist TAC staff on match days
